Frequently Asked Questions

Where are swim lessons located?

  • Summer/Early fall- Private home in Turlock. Location to be given upon scheduling

  • Winter/Spring- Aquatic Dreams in Modesto

What if my child is not toilet trained yet?

Children who are not toilet trained can attend swim lessons but need to be in a swim diaper.

Can siblings come to swim lessons?

Yes, siblings are welcome to attend swim lessons. At our Turlock location, for safety reasons, we ask that all siblings stay behind the pool fence. At the Modesto location, families can sit around the pool, but please always keep a close eye on any child not participating in the lesson.

Do parents/guardians need to get in the water?

In our adaptive swim lessons, the instructor is always in the water with your child. If assistance is needed, the instructor will ask for support from the water. Safety is our top priority during every swim lesson.

Does my child need to wear goggles and/or swim cap?

We understand that many swimmers have sensory needs, so swim caps and goggles are optional during our lessons.

How long are the swim lessons?

Swim lessons last 25 minutes, followed by a 5-minute transition or "reward" time. This allows instructors to establish a safe and smooth routine for entering and exiting the water, while also giving students some fun water time as a reward for their hard work during the lesson

How do I get started if my child is a regional center client?

To enroll in the I Can Swim Program, please click on the 'Enroll Now' tab. Once your enrollment is received, our team will contact you to schedule your child's swim lessons. Following the scheduling of lessons, we will coordinate billing directly with the Regional Center.

What are additional resources to help my child?

Our swim instructors are Level 1 swim certified Adaptive Swim Whispers and highly encourage our families to access the resources on Swim Angelfish website.
